Project Brief
Gulendi water supply project was conceived to provide drinking water facility in the 77 problematic villages located nearby the Gulendi dam in Jhalawar District, Rajasthan
Gulendi dam across the river Gulendiin district Jhalawar is situated at a Distance of about 60km from Jhalawar and is the only dependable and most feasible source to provide drinking water to project area. The Gulendi Water Supply Project from Gulendi Dam comprises physical and institutional components. The physical components include water supply infrastructure (intake pumping station, raw water system, treatment, storage and distribution facilities) whereas the institutional components include the administration arrangements, community participation, training programs and health educational programs.
The various components of the over all Project includes abstraction of water from the Gulendi dam through an Intake structure and raw water main, treatment of the water, storage, transmission of clear water to various distribution centers, and delivery of potable water to the population via primary, secondary and tertiary infrastructure (pumping stations, concrete reservoirs and networks of pipelines).
